◎简　　介

　　数年前，艾米莉亚·范宁（艾斯·戴维斯 Essie Davis 饰）和丈夫遭遇一场严重车祸，丈夫不幸在这场意外中身亡。在此之后，艾米莉亚一面在养老院辛勤工作，一面又要照顾年幼的儿子塞缪尔（诺亚·维斯曼 Noah Wiseman 饰）。没有父亲的保护，塞缪尔从小害怕鬼怪，与之相对又表现出极其暴力叛逆的言行举止。带着危险品上学的塞缪尔遭到校方的斥责，艾米莉亚无奈暂时将其托付给克莱尔阿姨照看。
　　某晚，塞缪尔选了一本从未见过的绘本《巴巴杜先生》作睡前故事，因故事太过诡异恐怖，艾米莉亚中止了阅读，谁知小塞缪尔却仿佛着魔了一般。他声称巴巴杜来到了家里，小家伙的举止越来越离经叛道，而各种可怕的现象也接二连三出现……

       澳大利亚导演珍妮弗·肯特（Jennifer Kent）的处女作，恐怖片《巴巴杜》，今年初在圣丹斯首映后收获不少好评。
       影片将破碎家庭关系与心理恐怖结合，男孩塞缪尔（Smuel）与所有这个年龄的男孩一样，对妖怪和魔法十分痴迷，他的寡母艾米莉亚（Amelia）努力满足儿子的各种要求。不如意的工作，丈夫之死的悲痛，连同行为越发古怪的儿子，让艾米莉亚筋疲力尽。
       巴巴杜本是艾米莉亚读给塞缪尔听的图画故事，巴巴杜是个夜间出没的可怕生物，总是挂着诡异的笑容，手指细长，目露凶光，还带着一顶高帽子。
       卡纸和动画描绘出这个神秘魔鬼的世界，一个一旦进入家门就再也不会轻易离开的魔鬼，而故事书之外，艾米莉亚和塞缪尔的世界也变得越发诡异瘆人，四处是晕开的灰暗色彩……
