　　1945年4月，德国纳粹已成强弩之末，第二次世界大战即将落下帷幕，战火正转向德国本土。绰号“战争老爹”的坦克小队队长唐·柯利尔（布拉德·皮特 Brad Pitt 饰）刚刚与战友经历了一场殊死之战，疲惫和愤怒早已胜过了对战争的恐惧。休整期间，从没有过战场经验的打字员诺曼（罗根·勒曼 Logan Lerman 饰）被分到唐的坦克“狂怒”上。诺曼对自己的遭遇愤愤不平，也无法坦然接受新战友粗鲁暴虐的一面。接到新的任务后，唐带领坦克小队前往下一个城镇作志愿，然而一路上却遭到德军顽强的抵抗。
　　最残酷的腥风血雨，让诺曼在悲伤、暴怒、惊恐和绝望中迅速成长起来，而他也即将和战友们经历一场最难忘的殊死决战……

◎幕后制作

       剧组人员为了让影片看起来更真实，对片中细节的完美还原做到了无以附加的细致。在片中的每一个士兵的造型都是精心设计的，复原士兵原貌的化妆过程非常复杂，他们脸上混着的不止是泥土，还有身旁战友的鲜血。而在影片的服装设计上，服装设计玛雅·梅舍德也十分严谨，剧组专程去柏林寻找40年代那会制作的旧衣服，所以电影里从每一粒纽扣到每一个挂钩都是真实原始的。
       相比这些细节上的还原，本片中的“道具主角”——坦克，还原起来可就要难了许多，首先要真实还原坦克的内部，如同重新制造一辆汽车一样，从声音到引擎，最终成品必须得跟奔驰车一样跑起来。对此制片人比尔·布洛克表示，没有电脑特效，全是实打实的坦克，实打实的服装和设备，在真实的泥泞和大雨里拍摄，体会那一年刻骨铭心的欧洲的冬天。
据悉，片中的每一个细节都有据可依，甚至将五辆美军的谢尔曼坦克和一辆德军的虎式坦克搬到了片场。这些“真家伙”在片中的出镜率超过80%，在枪林弹雨的战场上气势十足，战术多样。片中最抓人眼球的一场大战是美军的谢尔曼坦克部队与德军的虎式坦克遭遇时的大战。
       电影中出现的二战战场上的“绝对杀手”—德军虎式坦克是英国当年缴获的、全球仅存的一辆真家伙。
       131号虎式坦克被储藏在英格兰南部的一家坦克博物馆，它也是全世界仅存的一辆可以开动的虎式坦克。
       《狂怒》剧组为真实还原战争的残酷，向博物馆租借这辆坦克用于拍摄。在《狂怒》片场，这辆古董级文物坦克被奉为巨星，尊贵程度远超影片主演布拉德·皮特。剧组甚至让海军陆战队对演员进行了一周的训练，还让演员与坦克吃住在一起，更1：1地还原了坦克内部结构，让演员们更好地了解这辆坦克中的“哥斯拉”。
       皮特也在海军陆战队训练营接受了高强度的体能训练，参加了坦克驾驶训练课程，数月里跟战友们在坦克里一同吃喝拉撒。
