难忘的高中卧底生涯不仅让 施密特 Schmidt 和 延科 Jenko 经历了课业上的考验，还帮他们解决了一些“青少年问题”。时光飞逝，当地警方继续派他们在大学做卧底，他们和年轻人的良好关系为警方拿到不少情报。一切进入正轨，延科加入了学校足球队，和一帮臭味相投的球友打得火热，施密特则进入艺术专业，被班上的青春美少女和完美雕塑勾去了魂魄。破案对他们来说，简直成了负担。他们之间的搭档关系也急转直下。究竟他们要不要维持搭档的关系，还是放任自己享受“大学第二春”呢。

影片延续了前作的故事，一对活宝警探在“成功并出色”地完成了高中卧底破大案之后，并没有按最初的设想“重返”警局，而是继续被上级安排到大学继续做卧底。犹如周星驰的《逃学威龙》般持续搞笑不断。历经多年的搞笑经验和各戏路乃至编剧等幕后工作的体验和才华展示，小胖子乔纳·希尔已然成长成如今在好莱坞独当一面的星星。而搭档查宁·塔图姆则凭借优质的外形和日臻到位的演技，也成为好莱坞新生代男星中的佼佼者。眼下，这对一高一胖、一猛一智、一贫一贱……的组合，再度出手。在本就千奇百怪、花样百出的大学校园里，又搞出一番新花样来，已然是不足为奇了。让人兴致盎然的是，这对已然不少年的龙虎兄弟到底能搞到什么程度。片花中，两人犹如“史密斯夫妇”般接受心理专家的调试和治疗，互道缺点和互提要求后“十指相扣”的结局足以令人大跌眼镜。随后，在更加“限制级别”的大学生活里，两人更是口味儿持续升级，或与女生的亲密接触，或与男生的紧密配合，或与悍匪的直接交火，足以带出让人捧腹不禁的连连笑料来。
此次续集的拍摄，可谓是两年前原班人马的完全回归，不但是两位年轻导演的再度激情合作，小胖乔纳·希尔也继续与编剧团队合伙奉上了全新的搞笑卧底故事。而作为他们的上司——迪克森上尉的扮演者艾斯·库珀也继续火爆回归，满嘴脏话脾气火爆的他，可谓同样笑点多多。而不论是黑帮大佬们的冲动出场，还是校园美眉加激情男生的倾情来袭，都让这一部青春气息浓郁的限制级搞笑大片带来足够的看点。
本片2013年9月28日在新奥尔良取景开拍，同年12月15日杀青，主要拍摄地位于杜兰大学。
